A woman waits three hours alone at the airport, only to discover her fiancé has boarded the plane with her cousin instead of her. Humiliated and heartbroken, she makes a decision that will upend the wedding plans and force everyone involved to reckon with their betrayal.
Evelyn, Chloe already picked out the wedding favors for us. I tried them myself. They're really good. He unwrapped a piece of chocolate and pressed it into my mouth.
Well, good, right? Sweetness bloomed in my mouth, laced with a faint, salty edge. Halfway through swallowing, something felt wrong, and I spat it out fast. Lucas blinked.
You don't like it? Is there peanut in it? So what if there is? Lucas looked confused.
I'm allergic to peanuts. This is all my fault. I was so careless. Lucas froze, and it seemed to come back to him then. It's okay, Chloe. This isn't on you.
Evelyn, the favors are for the guests. As long as you don't eat them, you'll be fine. Fine. Chloe's been putting thought into customizing these since last month. Don't ruin Fine. I didn't want to argue, so I turned and went upstairs. Not long after, Lucas came into my room.
Evelyn, I need to talk to you about something. Chloe's going to a fan meet in a few days, and it happens to fall on the same day as our The wedding's canceled.
